Leafy spurge (Euphorbia esula) invasion

Leafy spurge is one of the most notorious weeds of the western United States. Native species are displaced by this highly invasive species originally from Eurasia. Here it is invading Palouse prairie near Missoula, Montana (above) and prairie potholes near Ovando, Montana (below; see arrow).
