Time-lapse photography

change in forest across the seasons

Time-lapse photography compresses the time that events are normally perceived. This technique blends photography with elements of cinematography and digital editting to document incremental changes over time.  Processes that would normally be too subtle to detect, such as grass growing, come to life when depicted as a time-lapse movie.

I have organized the iecology content into themes relevant to topics in Biology/Ecology. I hope that this structure will encourage educators to use this content to supplement their teaching materials.  Some content is presented in more than one section because of its diverse relevance. Video files are *.mp4 format and require QuickTime which is a free video player.  On each page, I provide some details about the different projects. All movies were editted and created using Adobe After Effects CS4.

I have higher quality movies and more sequences than appear on this site. Serious enquiries can be sent to Kurt Reinhart.
